Summer Break is knocking on the door

What a wonderful weekend.  Friday, I attended Aydn's Preschool Graduation.  It was so cute.  The little songs they preformed were too funny.  I still cannot believe that he will be in Kindergarten next year.

Kylee finished up her Freshman year of High School on Friday also.  She made honor roll, which made me a very proud mama.  She had quite the freshman year, with a ton of accomplishments and awards.  She is a wonderful kid, and I'm proud that shes my daughter.

Saturday, we attended the regional championship softball game.  Unfortunately, that did not end quite as well.  They lost against Massac County 3-1.  Kylee did end her freshman softball career though, hitting a solo home run in that game.

Massac County wins 30th game, regional title : Massac County High School

Another thing I'm really excited about is the planning of Kylee's Sweet 16 Party.  We are throwing it this Fall.  She wants to have a huge Masquerade Ball.  I put together a Facebook page for her party specifically, so that people could RSVP and follow the planning of this party.  I also included a preview SAVE THE DATE video for everyone.  We will send out invitations closer to the actual date of the party.  This is going to be a HUGE party and there are a few things we are not even telling her about.  I've included the video below for all of you to check out.  I'm pretty excited about it.

The weekend was topped off by spending the day at my friends house swimming.  Had a great time.  I'm ready to tackle these last four days of school.  But I'm also ready to escape to my favorite place on Thursday.  Let this summer be epic and get here quick!

Good but SAD last days

Well today is a checkpoint in my life.  My little guy is graduating from Preschool to the big Kindergarten.  My daughter will no longer be a freshman after her last stressful final today either.  It's a year of good but SAD last days for me as a mother.  Although, I do look forward to no longer paying daycare....EVER again.

Kylee's high school softball team won their first regional game vs. Anna the other day.  It was a dramatic game, full of stress BUT turned out in our favor.  The girl's played til the last second and that was the difference in the game.  Kylee had a great game, going 2-3 at the plate, and plating 2 of the 3 runs we scored that day.  Not only did they win, but Kylee also broke the single season hits school record with that game.  The record was 54, and Kylee broke it with 56.  As a freshman, I'd say she has a lot to be proud of.  I know I am proud too.

Our school had a talent show the other day in which I was a judge.  We only had six acts total, and a fellow teacher who killed it on his sax.  The students really stepped up and cheered each other on.  It's not easy getting up in front of your peers and doing something like that.  We had a great time being judges though.  Plus, I have to give a shout out to my good friend Haley for looking great as the MC.

Well the countdown is on.  I have 4 days left of work, and Florida is right around the corner.

Mothers Day & Cougar Fun Run

Happy Mothers Day to all of you!!  Hope you had a wonderful day and got to spend time with the ones who make you the happiest but work you the hardest too.  The hardest job you never want to quit.  My family started by getting up nice and early to exercise, since we knew we would be pigging out.  We headed out first to Chesterfield, MO. mall for some Cheesecake Factory.   Yummmmmm!!

Cheesecake Factory
After we stuffed ourselves silly, we rolled over to West County Mall in Saint Louis for some vacation shopping along with getting a beautiful bracelet for myself.  I will post pics and links for this bracelet tomorrow.  Each of my kids picked out charms that described themselves and described me.  It means a lot.  We walked about 10 miles over the course of the day, from one end of that mall to another.  Great place to shop.  The mall has a ton of shops and is so clean.  Plus, the parking is plentiful.  I would rank it the best mall in the Saint Louis area.

Overall, I would say it was a great day.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!

This morning was a early morning once again.  This week in general is going to be hectic.  As we wind down the school year, we have a million things going on.  Not only is school hectic (9 days left), life in general is a whirlwind.  That is OK though, b/c I thrive on fast paced.  I love having a ton of things to do.  My feet and mind may hurt, but it's better than being bored.  But as I was saying, today was our COUGAR FUN RUN.  Haley (co-worker and b/f/f of mine) and I put together this activity for all of our classes to do.  Originally, it had started out as a COLOR RUN, but there were too many technicalities, so we had to settle for the revised version.  The students all ran or walked a 1.5 mile course, stopping at different stations along the way.  These stations consisted of healthy snacks, water and then each student would get their t-shirt stamped by a tshirt.  The shirts on the front said COUGAR RUN, and on the back said YOU DESERVE A PAW ON THE BACK.  The students afterwards signed their classmates and our t-shirts and we signed theirs.  We had music playing and at one point the students even broke out into a massive ZUMBA dance I had taught them.  What a wonderful day and what a wonderful "teacher" moment.  These are the days and the moments that make teaching WONDERFUL because you know you made a difference.

Early Morning for me

Man, I cannot believe I am up this early on a SATURDAY.  It is nice to be alone though, with silence.  So yesterday, Ky's softball team beat Marion pretty bad.  That would wrap up the last regular season game.  I hope the girls kick butt Wednesday at their first regional game against A.J.

My husband also made it home last night and told me all about his great time in Dallas, TX.  He said the city is really growing and is quite beautiful.  So for those of you looking to move, apparently it is up and coming.

Today is prom for our high school.  My daughter is only a freshman, and I would not allow her to attend.  Those are my rules, and of course I'm sticking to them.

I think my family and I will possibly go to the SIU softball game today and then later to the new movie, AVENGERS.  I'm really looking forward to seeing my sons face when he finds that out.

Well only 12 days left til our vacation, and only 9 days left of work for me!!  Yipee

Carterville softball cruises to win over Cobden : Varsity Softball

Carterville softball cruises to win over Cobden : Varsity Softball

Great win yesterday for the Lady Lions.

My husband text me last night and informed me that he was eating dinner on the Dallas Cowboy Football Stadiums  20 yard line.  He also took pictures of himself by the 50 yard STAR and the famous tunnel.   He said the stadium is unreal.  He promised me he would bring back pictures.

16 Days Left---(maybe)

My Little A-Roc

My Two Most Favorite Ball Players!!

Pinterest Hairstyle I tried out on Ky

So my husband is off to Dallas, TX. for business, while I'm home holding down the fort (and a job).  I'm very excited for him though, because he get's to tour the Dallas Cowboy Football Stadium while he is there.  Not only does that stadium seem larger than life, the Cowboys are his favorite team.  I'm very happy for him.  Hopefully, he will bring pictures home of his adventure and I can share them with everyone.  O and of course.....16 days left til SUMMER BREAK and adventure time!

And the countdown begins...

What a weekend!  Beautiful weather, jeep top off and lot's of outside time with the kids.  There are 17 days left til we are off on our first adventure for the summer.

Of course that alone makes me HAPPY!

Other things...

1.  13 1/2 days of school left---the great thing about being a teacher, is I get a summer break too!

2.  I've just recently gotten off the HCG diet, which I lost 41 lbs. (in 42 days) on.  I've also been able to maintain that weight loss.

3.  High School softball regional's are around the corner.  This week is Ky's last regular season as a freshman softball player.  How time fly's!

Lots of cool things for me to blog and post around the corner.
